Janet is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her experience involves working with pregnant teens, homeless families, families with newborns, court appointed juveniles, and people impacted by cancer. She believes that trauma comes in all shapes, sizes and forms and that most of us primarily want to feel that we are not alone. Janet approaches counseling as a path she will move along with each individual client. She believes strongly in client self-determination and appreciates the diversity of clients and their communities.
Janet utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Approach, Psycho-education, and Systems Perspective. Janet is an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist and loves helping people be true to their authentic selves. She believes in using art, writing, self-talk, and play for developing confidence and self-esteem. Janet has a passion for working with parents and kids to communicate in healthier ways. She is currently a participant in the Trauma Care Institute’s Trauma Therapy Certificate Program through Trauma Support Services of North Texas. She is committed to continuously improving and expanding her service expertise through education and experience.
